Summary
Değişik çevre şartlarında stabil ve yüksek verimli genotiplerin ıslahında, verimi belirleyen özellikler arasındaki ilişkilerin ve bu özelliklerin verime etki derecelerinin bilinmesi son derece önemlidir. Bu çalışmada, yedi kendilenmiş mısır hattının yarım diallel olarak melezlcnmesindeıı elde edilen 21 melez popıılasyonda, tane verimi ve verimle ilişkili bazı özelliklere (bitki boyu, koçan uzunluğu, koçan kalınlığı, koçanda sıra sayısı, sırada tane sayısı ve bin tane ağırlığı) ilişkin veriler, verim ve verim unsurları arasındaki ilişkileri belirlemek amacıyla, korelasyon ve path katsayısı analizine göre değerlendirilmiştir. Tane verimi ile bütün özellikler arasında önemli ve olumlu ilişkiler belirlenmiştir. Path analizine göre, tane verimi üzerine olumlu yönde en büyük etkiye sahip olan özellikler sırasıyla koçanda tane sayısı, bin tane ağırlığı, sırada tane sayısı, koçanda sıra sayısı ve koçan kalınlığıdır. Tane veriminin oluşumunda bitki boyu ve koçan uzunluğunun doğrudan etkisi ihmal edilebilir düzeydedir. Mısırda verimin artırılması için yapılacak seleksiyon çalışmalarında, koçanda tane sayısı ve bin tane ağırlığına birinci derecede öncelik verilebileceği sonucuna varılmıştır.

Abstract
A clear assessment of association and relative contribution of yield components is of utmost importance in improving stable and high yielding genotypes for a range of environments. In this study, the data for grain yield and certain related attributes (plant height, ear length, ear diameter, ear row number, row grain number, ear grain number, and thousand grain weight) in a population consisted of 21 F| maize hybrids derived by half diallel crossing among seven maize inbreds were studied to determine yield and yield component relationships using correlation and path coefficient analysis. The grain yield was positively correlated with all the characters investigated. Path coefficient analysis revealed that number of grains on ear had the greatest positive direct effect on grain yield followed by thousand grain weight, row grain number, ear row number, and ear diameter, respectively. Direct effects for plant height and ear length were of negligible importance in determining com yield. In conclusion, in improving yield in corn a greater priority would be given for number of grains on ear and thousand grain weight.
