Determination of main seedling parameters and evaluation of relations obtained from different walnut varieties
In this study, seedling growth performance and main seedling attributes of seeds of 12 walnut varieties/genotype grown in plastic tubes have been investigated in relation to seed weight for one growing season. Germination rates, emergency times, seedling survival rates were observed in growing season and shoot lenghts and thickness, root, shoot and total seedling biomass values of certain weighted seeds were determined after growing season. Seed germination rates, emergence times, root, shoot and total biomass vaules were found significantly different between varieties. Moisture contents of shoot and root of seedlings from different sources after leaf fall were not significantly different.
