Abstract
Determination of Quality Characteristics of Some Durum Wheat (Triticum durum L.) Cultivars and Lines Grown as Winter and Spring under Tokat-Kazova Conditions
The research was conducted to investigate effects on some quality characteristics of winter and spring sowing time of different durum wheat genotypes in Tokat-Kazova conditions during 2014-2015 and 2015-2016 growing seasons. In the experiment, 4 durum wheat (Triticum durum L.) lines and 15 durum wheat cultivars were used as trial material. Field tests was founded 3 replication according to Randomized Complete Block Design as winter and spring sowing periods. Seeds were sown with a density of 500 plants per square meter and fertilizer rates were applied as 10 kg N and 6 kg P2O5 per decare. While half of the nitrogen and all of the phosphorus was applied at sowing, the other half of the nitrogen was applied prior to jointing stage. According to the two-year average of genotypes changed between vitreousness ratio 88.2-96.8 % at winter sowing, 90.7-96.4 % at spring sowing; protein content 12.3-14.0 % at winter sowing, 13.1-16.0 % at spring sowing; sedimentation value 17.2-20.5 ml at winter sowing, 16.8-21.2 ml at spring sowing. According to results of variance analysis statistically significant differences (P<0.05 or P<0.01) were determined among genotypes both winter and spring sowing in the first year of protein content, every two years of vitreousness ratio and sedimentation value. Also, significant differences were determined among years both winter and spring sowing in terms of other investigated traits except for winter sowing of sedimentation value. According to the results of a two-year, it has been determined that came to the fore in terms of the quality characteristics Hat-20 from lines, Şahinbey and Zühre from varieties in winter sowing Hat-20 from lines Altın 40/98 and Eminbey from varieties in summer sowing.
