Abstract
Determination of the ecological footprint of the Agricultural Faculty academicians: the case of Mustafa Kemal University
In this study, ecological footprints were calculated and evaluated according to the consciousness and consumption habits of Mustafa Kemal University Agriculture Faculty academicians. Web-based "Ecological Footprint Calculation Survey" was used as data collection tool in the research. A total 91 of academicians’ questionnaires were applied in the study. Descriptive statistics such as mean, standard deviation were used in the analysis of the data. As a result of the calculations, the average ecological footprint of academicians was determined as 3.08 gha and the carbon footprint average was 14.31 tons. According to these results, at least 3.08 worlds are needed for Mustafa Kemal University Agriculture Faculty academicians for a sustainable life.
