Abstract
Determination of pressure changes inside silo in corn silage making under field condition
The main aim of this study is to determine the compression pressure applied to the material in bunker silo under field condition. For a good silage quality, the compaction phase is important. To characterize the compression effect of the material in the silo (three regions, three locations and three heights according to the layers), 24 measuring points are specified. These point pressure measurement sensors are installed. Pressure measurements were made with a pressure measurement system developed for the measurement of compaction pressure in silage material. Pressure changes measured at different areas and at different material heights of the bunker silo were statistically significant (P <0.05), while insignificant at different locations.
