A Research on Elasticity Estimation of Income-Expenditure For Food Products and Food Expenditure in Central DistrictI of Tokat Province (An Application of the Extended Linear Expenditure System)
In this study, grouped food and meat expenditure of the housholds in Tokat Province were investigated and income and price elasticities of grouped food and meat demand were estimated.
Data used in the study were obtained from the 274 families having different socioeconomic charactaristics by face to face survey application. According to the income groups in the study region, it has been seen that the share of food expenditure in the family budget changed between %62 and %18. Besides, it has been determined that food demand price elasticity was less than one and income raising did not increase food consumption.
