Abstract
The Effects of Dıffrent Sowing Densities on Grain Yield and Yield Components of Some Corn Cultivars
This study was conducted to detemine the effects of different sowing density (5077, 6154, 7692 and 10256 plants/de) on grain yield and some caharacteristics of four corn cultivars (Sele, RX- 770, RX- 899 and RX- 947) in Tokat, Erbaa in 1998 and 1999.
The results of this study revealed that sowing density affected significiantly grain yield, ear height, plant height, ear length, number of grain per ear, grain weigth per ear, and 1000 grain weight significiantly. The highest grain yield for RX- 899 cultivar was obtained at 6154 plant density while for the other cultivars at 7692 plant density, sowing densities.
li was also founded tlial cultivars used in experiment were different for the same tarits ). The highest grain yield was obtained from RX- 899 cultivar.
