Abstract
A Research on Yield and Antrachnose (Ascochyta rabiei) Reaction of Some Chickpea (Cicer arietinum L.) Cultivars Under Different Environmental Conditions
This study was carried out to determine the reactions of chickpea cultivars to antrchnose at different locations and effects of location on yield. Experiment was conducted with 15 chickpea cultivars (11 sertified and 4 local cultivar) at four different locations in 2001-2002. Experimental design was randomised block design with four replications. Disease reaction of the cultivar was evaluated by using 1-9 disease rating scale. Following agronomical data was obtained; Plant height, number of pots, seed, and yield per/plant, biological yield/da, yield/da, and one thousand seed weight. Results of the study showed that the antrachnose reaction of the cultivars was changed with location so the agronomical characteristics of the cultivars also varied with location. Increase in disease severity was reduced the yield significantly. None of the cultivar tested had resistance to antrachnose at four location, but Akçin-91 was the most tolerant cultivar to the disease. Based on the results of this study, Akçin-91, Er-99 and Gokce can be the most suitable chickpea cultivars under Tokat conditions.
