Instructions for Authors


AIMS and SCOPE

Journal of Agricultural Faculty is scientific, peer reviewed journal and belonged to the Gaziosmanpasa University Faculty of Agriculture since 1985. Journal of Agricultural Faculty of Gaziosmanpasa University aims to publish the international scientific paper on agriculture sciences (agricultural economics, animal science, biosystems engineering, field crops, fisheries engineering, horticulture, plant protection, soil science and plant nutrition). The journal is published at least twice in a year. The journal will be published quarterly in a year from 2014.

PUBLISHING  POLICY

Manuscripts are published in Turkish and English. The manuscripts are submitted to the journal from Turkey and the other countries for review by corresponding author. The manuscript submitted should not have been submitted and published in other journal. Manuscript with Copyright Transfer Agreement form, signed by all authors, should be mailed to ziraatdergi@gop.edu.tr via e-mail by corresponding author.  

Authors are strongly encouraged to use iThenticate Plagiarism Detection Software which are available for single users on the net. Authors should check own manuscript before application to the journal. The result of similarity test must be under 20% except references list. After submission of your paper to our online system you should also email (ziraatdergi@gop.edu.tr) us the  iThenticate similarity report of the paper.

Submitted manuscript to the journal is considered to preliminary assesment by the Editorial Board of journal. The Editorial Board has the right to decline the manuscript in event the manuscript does not meet the journal publishing rules. Manuscripts that meet the basic requirements are numbered and sent to double blind referees, experts in particular field of science, to peer review process (for max. 20 days period). Then, if the referees do not find the manuscript for publication, the related manuscript are not returned to the author, manuscript are archived. After peer reviewing, if the referees find the manuscript for publication with requires revision and corrections, author is informed and the referee’s suggestions and the related documents are sent to the corresponding author. The author are sent the corrected and revised manuscript to the Editorial Board as soon as possible (max. 30 days). Then, Editorial Board takes the final decision (positive or negative) for publication of manuscript. For the content of the accepted manuscripts, no editing, changes, including addition or deletion, can be made.

Only two manuscripts of each author, as the first author for one of the manuscript, can be published in same issue of the journal. 

The author(s) are responsible for the content of the published manuscripts.

PREPARATION of MANUSCRIPT

Manuscript submitted to the journal should be prepared on A4 size paper in 12 point, Times new Roman font, one and a half line spacing, leaving 3 cm blank spaces all four margins of each page. Each page and  each line of pages should be numbered. Manuscript should not be longer than 15 pages (including figures and tables).

Author name(s), without any titles or positions, should be clearly written in bold font size. The adresses of all authors and contact details (e-mail, telephone, fax etc.) of the corresponding author of the manuscript should be clearly provided.

Manuscript submitted to the journal, in general, should follow this order: Title, Abstract (both Turkish and English), Introduction, Materials and Methods, Results and Discussions, Conclusions,  Acknowledgements (if necessary), and references.

Title: The title of manuscript should contain short and illustrative not exceeding fifteen words.   

Abstract: The abstract must be in both Turkish and English, and should not be exceed 200 words for both English and English abstract. Authors of non Turkish origin may submit their manuscripts with an abstract written in English only.  

Keywords: This section should be contain 5 keywords in alfabetical order.

Introduction: This section should be expained the problem, previous studies, especially the most recent publications. The objectives of the study should be clearly given in this section.  

Materials and Methods: In this sections, all the materials, and analtyical and statistical methods and procedures should be explained.

Results and Discussions: In this section, the data and information should be presented in tables or figures and discussed by considering from the previos literatures.

Acknowledgements: People, grants, funds, contributed to the manuscript, must be placed in this section.    

Figures and tables: All figures and tables should be numbered and placed at the end of the manuscript. Figure and table widths should be should be 8 cm or 15 cm. The images should be grayscale (jpeg formatted) with 600 dpi resolution.

References: In the text, references should be cited by the authors surname and the year of publication (Clark, 1999), references provided by two authors, ‘and’ should be used between the surnames of authors (Davis and Evans, 2010). For citation or references with 3 or more authors, only the first author’s surname followed ‘et al.’ (Couto et al. 2005). If there is more than one reference in the same year fort he same author(s) then ‘a, b’ letters should be added in alfabetical order these references (Khan, 2003a,b). References should be prepared in alfabetical and chronological order. References to journal article, boks, proceedings, chapters in books etc. should be listed as given below:

The statistical significance should be stated using P values (P<0.01) or ** symbols for which description should be given.

SI unit systems should be used, / symbol should not be used in preparation of manuscript. (N or kg m-3 instead of kg or kg/m3). Abbreviations and symbols (if necessary) should be given in parentheses. Abbreviations should not be used in the manuscript title or subtitles. Formulas should be given as ‘equation’ and numbered in manuscript.
